I was recently treated with this drug for a UTI. After taking several doses I develed a couple of red spots on my vulva area with some slight blistering a little further below. My blood test came back negative for herpes but I wondered if anyone has has these side effects or reaction to this drug.
Has anyone out there had a reaction or side effect to the drug sulfameth / trimethoprim / generic for bactrim?

Taking Amitriptyline and I just now noticed this side effect maybe?, on the side of the bottle. It says “You should avoid prolonged or excessive exposure to the direct and/or artificial sunlight when taking this medicine.”
What exactly does that mean? And why should I avoid sunlight when taking this medicine?
