I got my prescription at Sears. They say I need bi-focals, and said progressive lenses are good.
Where can I go to buy the glasses. Sears was a bit expensive.
I want to avoid buying online if necessary because I like to go and try things on and talk to the assistant.
Also, I hear that with progressive lenses, they have to be a certain size. Too small and they don’t work well.
Any comments?

I’ve heard some places are good; others have very slow delivery, etc. I’m not looking for anything fancy or expensive, basically just a spare “emergency” set of bifocals, so I’d like the cheapest I can get away with. What I’m really looking for here is any stories from people who have bought glasses online; both the “this place is good” and “stay away from this site” varieties. And yes, I’ve got the complete prescription ready, including pupil distance. Thanks!

I got a prescription and everything. My eye doctor told me it would cost something like $165 for a years worth if I switch them every two weeks if I bought them from her. Is that a good deal? It would be easier to buy them from the doctor because I wouldn’t have to wait or anything. Is there a good website where I could buy some for cheaper or just look around?
